UNZA management says the institution will open on October 4 as scheduled following the lecturers’ agreement to release students’ examination results.
The University of Zambia public relations manager Damaseke Chibale said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that following the agreement by lecturers to release the results, management will commence administrative work.
Mr Chibale said the lecturers agreed to release students’ results after a meeting they had with Government and UNZA
management to chart the way forward on how the K320 million owed to them and allied workers would be liquidated.
“We are appealing to our students to remain calm; the university will open as scheduled. There will be no disruption. The first year students will open on 4th October, and returning students will open a week later,” he said.
