Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States Palan Mulonda has congratulated Amanda Wamunyima for winning the prestigious title of Ms. America 2016 on Saturday 29th
August 2015.
In congratulating her Ambassador Mulonda noted that her success was a victory for Zambia as well. Ambassador
Mulonda commended her for working tirelessly during her reign as Ms. Florida State 2015 to support causes in Zambia
on disability.
“Your continued efforts will certainly go a long way in contributing to Zambia’s development,” Ambassador Mulonda said.
And Ms. Wamunyima says she is overwhelmed and grateful for winning the prestigious title.
Ms. Wamunyima who has partnered with the American Red Cross to do charitable
work around the United States says she intends to expand her work to Zambia too.
Ms. Wamunyima currently supports a school in Kabwe where she provides school supplies but plans on expanding
her charitable work by providing safe drinking water in Zambia.
She is hoping to begin by providing safe water to at least one village in each province.
Ms. Wamunyima who also supports disability causes, holds the Ms. Florida State 2015 title during which time she ran a “We are United” campaign.
