Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Margaret Mwanakatwe says technology and innovation are among other major forces that drive economic growth and development.
Speaking when she officially launched the Manufacturing Week Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) television, Mrs Mwanakatwe said technology and innovation are crucial for economic development as they play a critical role in the growth and development of the manufacturing sector.
She added that manufacturing is key to a sustainable socio-economic development.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe further stressed that for agriculture and other sectors of the economy to sustainably develop, a dependable manufacturing sector should be in place because it provides demand for other sectors.
