Support for Saboi Imboela to contest as Member of Parliament (MPs) for Kafue constituency has erupted on social media.
A Lusaka songbird, former duo Shatel, Ms. Imboela has of late been receiving support from her fans on social media arousing her to contest as MP in the forth coming 2016 general elections.
Ms. Imboela, a rights activist would join Maiko Zulu among other artists who are aspiring to contest as MPs for 2016 general elections if she decided to stand.
Supporters are suggesting that she contests as MP for Kafue Constituency under the United Party for National Development (UPND) ticket.
However, Ms. Imboela has not yet made any official statement on this matter.
On her facebook wall Ms. Imboela has acknowledged the support and said she is grateful.
“Thanks a million for the wonderful comments and support, you all. I really appreciate it, especially the prayers. I'm grateful for good friends and family like you. God bless you all in all your various endeavors,” she commented on a post
on her facebook wall which read as follows; “For a better Zambia, Vote for Saboi Imboela for MP”.
Meanwhile, her supporters have designed posters and T-shirts for her as
contributions towards her 2016 campaigns.
