Former First Lady Thandiwe Banda is alive and well contrary to rumor circulating on social media that she has died.
Former President Rupiah Banda’s assistant Dr Martin Mtonga told QFM News in a telephone interview that the former first lady is currently is South Africa where she accompanied her husband for his medical checkup.

Dr Mtonga has emphasized that Mrs Banda is in South Africa purely to accompany the former President for his medical checkup.
He added that the former First Lady has been cleared of breast cancer that she has since resumed her normal duties at
home and at their farm.
Dr Mtonga has since advised Journalists to always double check stories before publishing or broadcasting. LT
