Asikana Network in partnership with eSkills4Girls will host the first ever all female hackathon that will bring together
females to build out ideas to create solutions using Technology.
eSkills4Girls Africa Code Week is an all-women hackathon – an event where you make new friends and build a startup
together in a weekend.
Girls and women are invited on 18-25 October, 2017 to learn new skills, test new business ideas and meet new people to build the internet with.
Kicking off in the morning, you will be placed into teams of 3-4 and your ideas will come from those teams.
Get ready to meet awesome females doing amazing things with technology, and work together to bring something new to life.
The winning team of the Hackathon with the best technology idea will get 3 weeks 'free incubation' from BongoHive
Innovation and Technology Hub whoopy.
Through the incubation, the winning team will learn how to refine and prototype their idea while getting a set of business fundamentals essential to a new enterprise.
This will work on the principle of evidence-based entrepreneurship so they will learn how to:
• Apply the fundamentals of UX (User Experience) to their idea.
• Evolve their idea through interacting with their users
• Create a compelling unique value proposition
• Generate financial forecasts and keep track of budget
• Create and test a prototype of their product/service
• Learn how to pitch their idea to investors, customers and
partners.
