His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu President of the Republic of Zambia has
appointed Hon. Kampamba Mulenga, MP as Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services taking over from
Hon. Chishimba Kambwili, MP, whose services have been terminated with immediate effect.
In a press statement issued by Special Assistant to the President - Press and Public Relations, Amos Chanda and made available to WM Media, the new Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services is Member of Parliament for Kalulushi Constituency on the Copperbelt Province.
The President has encouraged the new Minister to serve diligently and with high levels of integrity as she takes up this important role.
The President is confident that the added attributes of youth and female gender will spur the Minister to work even harder to promote the cause of women and youth in
decision making.
Hon. Mulenga previously served as District Commissioner for Kalulushi before she entered active politics.
Meanwhile Dr Kambwili has says he has
learnt of his dismissal as Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services through the media.
Dr Kambwili says it was a real pleasure serving as Minister in government.
“I would like to first and foremost thank God for his favour, I would also like to thank His Excellency the president Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu for according me the opportunity to serve in his government, it was a real pleasure being part of his team,” he says.
Dr Kambwili has since said he will remain a loyal member of the patriotic front, the party that is embedded in his heart.
“I will continue to execute my duties as Roan member of Parliament and a member of central committee,” he said.
“I wish my former team well as they move on to a new chapter, it was a real pleasure working with you all as you made my job a lot easier. I wish the new Minister well as she takes on a fun and active ministry.
