Police in Kasama have arrested six Grade 9 pupils of Kasenda Primary School for allegedly being in possession of
Examination materials.
Northern Province Deputy Police Commissioner Lizzy Machina has confirmed the development today saying the arrests were made last night around 21:30 hours at the said school following a tip-off from members of the public.
Commissioner Machina disclosed that the named grade nine pupils are reported to have been receiving text messages of
exam questions via mobile phones from unknown people who are believed to be based on the Copperbelt.
She added that police are still investigating the source of information and has since warned pupils in examination classes to desist from engaging in exam malpractices saying if found wanting they will be dealt with severely.
The police chief said the named are detained in police custody awaiting court appearance.
