Chief Chitanda Lumanba of Lenje speaking people in Chibombo district in Central Province says over 64 marriages involving young girls have been dissolved in his chiefdom.
Speaking at Lwiindi Ceremony yesterday, Chief Chitanda Lumaba said since last year he has embarked on campaign to fight early marriages and gender based violence which deters the development of the country.
The Traditional Leader further said he is working with other stakeholders including Zambia police service to bring to book the perpetrators of child early marriages and GBV.
Chief Chitanda Lumamba has since implored traditional leaders in Southern province to be part of the campaign
