Zambia Film and Television
Awards (ZAFTA) Chairperson Patrick Salubusa says the 2018
awards will be held in July.
Mr. Salubusa said the association is currently soliciting for
funds to host the annual event.
However, he stated that Multi Choice Zambia who are the
leading sponsors of the event have already come on board.
Mr. Salubusa has expressed happiness at the pace at which
the film industry is growing in the country.
He cited the premiering of Zambian movies in cinemas as an
indication of the thriving film industry.
Mr. Salubusa told ZANIS in a telephone interview today that
the association is in the process of signing a Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) with ster-kinekor
He reiterated that the signing of the MOU will contribute to
boosting of the movie industry in the country.
Mr. Salubusa said the introduction of ZAFTA awards has
played a major role in changing the film landscape in the
country.
And commenting on the categories of awards to be
presented to deserving actors and producers, Mr. Salubusa
said the awards for the best picture have been separated
into two categories namely the best editor and
cinematography.
While the television series award have been also separated
into two categories drama and series.
Meanwhile, Mr. Salubusa added that a press statement will
be issued next week which will contain details of the event.
