Vice-President Inonge Wina has challenged people of Lumamwa community in Samfya district not to
engage in bad fishing methods but rather
embrace fish farming to improve
their livelihoods.
Mrs Wina, who was speaking at a
Patriotic Front (PF) rally at Chishikishi
Primary School in Samfya, said people can earn a living from fish farming.
She said residents in the Lumamwa fishing
community should refrain from using
mosquito nets to catch fish as this could
deplete fish in lakes and rivers.
Mrs Wina also cautioned parents against
child marriage and sending of young boys
into fishing camps, saying children need to go to school. ZANIS
