|Photos| Thousands of youths rise to Lumwana mine recruitment exercise in Kitwe

A copper mining company, Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC) owned by Barrick Gold Corporation situated in the North Western region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km south west of the provincial capital of Solwezi this Wednesday attracted thousands of youths and adults for job interviews. 

The interviews took place at Kitwe Trades School on 4 May 2016 from 08:00-17:00hrs.

Don't inconvenience pupils, avoid a repeat of last year’s poor management of ICT exams - Dr Phiri

Minister of General Education John Phiri has urged school administrators in the country to avoid a repeat of last year’s poorly administered ICT examinations and urged teachers prepare adequately. 

Speaking in Lusaka yesterday when he officiated at the 2016 Examinations, the minister added that he does not want grade nine pupils to be inconvenienced like what happened last year.

Lusaka's Mtendere compound 'youth' stabs hubby to death

A 33-year-old man of Mtendere compound only identified as Anthony Nkhoma is suspected to have been stabbed to death by his wife, Elizabeth Lungu Nkhoma. 

Mrs Nkhoma, 26, allegedly stabbed her husband to death on Tuesday around 21:00 hours.

Young entrepreneurs in Southern Africa to form regional alliance

Young business leaders from seven countries in Southern Africa have agreed to establish a new Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs to promote entrepreneurship and trade across the region. 
The decision to form the alliance came this week at a workshop organised in Windhoek, Namibia, by the Commonwealth Secretariat for representatives of national youth entrepreneurship organisations from Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia.

Adopt more albinos in key positions – Konkola

National Albinism Networking Association of Zambia President Dickson Konkola has urged political parties taking part in this year’s general election to consider fielding people living with albinism in various elective positions. 

Mr. Konkola says Albinos have also applied to be adopted at various electoral levels and they should not be discriminated against in the process.

Roberto bags Mosi Lager Song of the Year Award, Pan African Artist of the Year Award in Namibia

Roberto has also scooped Pan African Artist of the Year at the 6th Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMA) just after Mosi Lager Song of the Year live at the Mosi Lager Day of Thunder!
