Home Affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo has told a media briefing in Lusaka that the ministry has set aside funds to pay officers who participated in the exercise for a total of 30 days out of the 60 days owed to them.
Mr. Kampyongo says government remains committed to paying the remaining K18 million as soon as funds are set aside for this purpose.
He has refuted claims that the government has failed to settle arrears owed to the officers who participated in the exercise saying government is still considerate and
appreciates the efforts of the hardworking officers.
Mr Kampyongo says the officers worked for the money and it will be paid to them in due course.
