Kantu's life on the line, thugs want her dead

The life of a Lusaka based singer, stage name Kantu is under threat by unknown thugs. In the early hours of today (Sunday), 'Mungeli' singer was attacked by unknown people. 

“I was unfortunately attacked early this morning around 02 as I was coming from the sling beats festival where I was performing,” she says. 

In a text sent to Kantu real names Habanji Siachingili via whatsapp before the attack, a thug states that he won't rest until he sees her in the grave. 

And in a statement made available to WM Media, Kantu states that she does not owe anyone anything.  

“My parents didn't let me do music only to lose me to music over something insignificant. I don't owe anyone anything,” she states. 

A youthful Kantu further states that the attack cannot be a mare coincidence as this comes barely 2-days after she received a threatening message. 

“Such acts of primitivity cannot be let to go on unpunished. The music industry wasn't meant for certain people only. We are a civilized people and so we must learn to co-exist,” she laments. 

She has since said its time for her to break the silence.
