Fashion designing has potential of creating employment - Bulongo

Zambian fashion designer Betty Bulongo says fashion designing has a huge potential of creating employment in the country. 

She observed that there is need to incorporate creative fashion design in the Zambian school curriculum in order to equip students with creative art skills. 

Ms Bulongo was speaking in Addis Ababa on the sidelines of the international four day annual fashion event. 

Zambia is participating at this year's Africa Fashion Reception exhibition being held at the African Union building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 

And Zambia is being represented by Bulongo Fashion and Creative Arts designers and Chisoma Lombe at this year's four day fashion event. 

This year's annual fashion show has drawn the participation of thirty other African countries where the number of Zambian firms participating has increased from one firm last year to two. 

The continental fashion event showcases different clothing and promotes different fashion designs from across Africa. 

 Among the items that Zambia has exhibited are Chitenge dresses, men shirts and shorts in Africa print.
