Kambwili kudos Macky 2, B Flow

By Staff Reporter, NDOLA
The outspoken chief government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says Mark Mulaza Kaira alias Macky 2 and Brian Bwembya popularly known as B Flow deserve hands of applause for using their talents for the right reasons.

Mr Kambwili says he may not be into new Zambian urban music, but he still pays attention to the message.

“I may not be into this new urban music because I prefer my old Kalindula and Gospel. I have however followed the new music scene and I am extremely impressed, I may not understand the slang but I understand the message,” he says.

He explains that music is something the world cannot do without. “Music is powerful and authentic, often times musicians are not aware that their talents are God given and the aim is to spread positivity and entertainment. If music is used in the right way it can promote peace and tranquility,” Mr Kambwili explains.

Mr Kambwili who is also information minister notes that B Flow has made significant steps through music.

“I would like to convey my personal appreciation to Brian 'B Flow' Bwembya who has made significant steps through music to highlight the dangers of gender based violence (GBV). Brian is an artist that the whole Zambia should be proud of, he has managed to convey a message of change through music, he has become a voice for the voiceless women who undergo abuse from men. Brian has since got recognition from president Obama, president Lungu and various envoys to Zambia, his music stands up for what is right and it raises awareness towards GBV. What an achievement young man and keep it up,” he says.

He furthers says Mark Mulaza Kaira otherwise known as Macky 2 is also an artist that has conquered the plight of poverty and made a life for himself through music.

“Mark is determined to give back to communities through music, he conveys a message that states that poverty and unemployment are not factors if one can have the motivation to better their lives, Mark has recently embarked on a project to bring out the talent that yields in various parts of the country, youths are able to express themselves because of his music. Congratulations Mark keep up the good work, your music has a positive impact,” Mr Kambwili explains.

Mr Kambwili says these are two musicians that have used music in order to make a positive change.

“When music is used in the right way and for the right reasons, it definitely has a positive impact on people's lives. I would like to appeal to other musicians to focus their energies on making a positive change, because hate speech and negativity go against the original values and principles of music,” he says.

He adds that he personally appreciates music that makes a difference.

“Let us promote and appreciate music for change and encourage those artists and musicians that use their talents for the right reasons. Keep it up,” Mr Kambwili says.
