Hundreds of mourners gathered today (yesterday) to bid a farewell to a national broadcaster journalist, Faith Kandaba who died last week.
Ms Kandaba, 40, who was born to Simon Kenneth Kandaba and Rosemary Lunda on June 27, 1975 in Kitwe died on Tuesday, February 24 after an illness at the University Teaching Hospital was put to rest on February 27 at the Memorial Park in Lusaka.
At a requiem mass preceded by Father Andrew Mwanshi which took place at the Thorn Park Catholic Parish, Ms Kandaba was described as a selfless and dedicated Journalist.
Ms Kandaba was a staunch catholic such that she attended a Catholic primary school before enrolling at a prestigious Ibenga Secondary School, a mission school run by the Catholic Church.
Having so much passion for peoples welfare, she studied Journalism at Norma-Jean College and later joined the national broadcaster, Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC).
She joined ZNBC in 2000 as a Trainee Newscaster and later promoted to News reporter in 2003.
She was later transfered to the ZNBC Livingtone Station in the same capacity.
In 2011, she was elevated to the position of Head of Production and Operation at the Kitwe Office and was in July 2015 appointed Head of Content Research – Television, the position she held at the time of her death.
