On Friday (yesterday) families in Lusaka's John Laing compound were left in grief after a sudden heavy downpour of rains.
A check by WM Media found that Lamasat unfinnished 'wall fence' near Puma filling station along Kafue road collapsed during the downpour. When falling down, the bricks injured and claimed four lives of nearby residents (youths).
At press time, efforts to identify the injured and deceased by their names proved futile.
And Lusaka Province commissioner of police Charity Katanga, who confirmed the deaths and injuries in Lusaka yesterday, said three people died on the spot in John Laing when a wall collapsed on them.
She said a fourth person died at the hospital.
“Three are seriously injured and are currently nursing their wounds at the University Teaching Hospital,” Ms Katanga said.
