Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources through the
Department of Forestry has launched the "Plant a Million
Trees Initiative".
The initiative is set to be implemented under the theme “Growing Money from Trees.”
H.E. President Edgar Chagwa Lungu launched the initiative
on 30th April in Chinsali.
This initiative is aimed creating a
‘Tree-based Economy’ which will enable the country to
mitigate climate change with economic benefits.
“It
encourages communities to change and/or improve the
livelihood through growing trees.
You can help implement this initiative through: landscaping,
growing sustainable timber, agri-food processing, planting
tree fruits, edible products and other value added products.”
