His Worship, The Mayor of Ndola Amon Chisenga joined his counterpart Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang'ombe and Kitwe District Commissioner Binwell Mpundu in helping St Matthew the Apostle Parish raise funds to build school for the church to accommodate the needy in society.
The Mayor popularly known as Ndola One with other high table guest took to the dance floor with DC Mpundu and His
Worship Kang'ombe attempting to teach Ndola One the youthful and popular Chimwemwe Dance to encourage the
audience to pledge towards the noble cause.
The trio noted that the church has been a friend of government in development where government limps they are able to fill the gap.
They noted that they were children of the church and now that their lives were elevated the least they could do was show up when the church called upon them.
Mayor Chisenga added that it was important to support each other in projects as they are all aimed for one greater good.
He said despite Ndola City Council being in a financial limbo they would extend there little resources to help save the
community.
The Mayor like his counterparts also made personal pledges towards the cause.
And Mayor Kang'ombe noted that government on its own cannot develop the entire country.
He said the country can do better by supplementing government efforts by using community initiatives and tapping into corporate bodies community social
responsibility.
And speaking at the same occasion DC Mpundu noted that the church shaped his life and that of many leaders and thus when called upon should be supported.
