Medicines Transparency Alliance Coordinator Liyoka Liyoka
has urged media houses to help promote safe motherhood,
newborn, adolescent morbidity and mortality rates.
Mr. Liyoka says journalists can help policy makers in making
informed decisions if they report health matters affecting
the public.
Speaking during a one day media workshop on Sexual
Reproductive Health and Rights(SRHR) in Livingstone this
morning, Mr. Liyoka said media as a watchdog should report
on all issues affecting the public especially health care
delivery.
He says there is need for communities to know their sexual
Reproductive health rights in order to bridge the
information gap.
And Mr. Liyoka has also called on communities to introduce
measures to protect children from abuse and stigma.
