The Youth Entrepreneurship Association of Zambia (YEAZ)
has called on government to circulate the recently launched 2015 National Youth Policy and Action Plan for Empowerment and Employment.
YEAZ president Samuel Mulenga said there is need for the
National Youth Policy and Empowerment Plan to be made
available to every stakeholder, especially the youths, who he
said are the major stakeholders of the action plan.
He said a few people know the contents of action plan and
how government tends to implement it, thus the need to
avail the document to members of the public.
“This document needs to be circulated to everyone, to every
stakeholder involved. Those that are working with young
people and not forgetting the young people themselves.”
“I was one of those people who helped in the formulation of
the first Youth Policy Action plan but still don’t have the
document up to now. This document is not only for
government or the Minister of Sport and youth but it’s for
the young people of this country,” he added.
And a member of the Youth Xplosion Mantel Masumba has
commended government’s commitment to empowering the
youths in the country.
He has since applauded government for launching the 2015
National Youth Policy and Empowerment Policy Plan.
Mr. Masumba added, “It is a good thing that the president
launched the policy. The question now is how the plan will
be implemented. We have to put government to task to
implement this policy effectively, hope it’s not a mere
rhetoric.”
