A 9-year-old boy of Kaputa district has won Dr Chishimba Kambwili's heart and secured sponsorship that will see him through to University.
On Thursday this week, Aubrey Mulenga with his astonishing personality approached Dr Kambwili and asked for a school uniform.
Dr Kambwili who is also Minister of Information says he was touched by the boy's approach.
“After the meeting he ran to my car and exclaimed "Ba Kambwili uniform yandi yalilepuka" . So I asked him what
school he went to and what grade he is in,” he says, adding that the boy replied and said I just started school at the local community school because this is when we have received teachers.
Dr Kambwili says he was in shock to learn that in some parts of Zambia, children are willing to learn, but unable to because in the past teachers have been scarce.
He however says he was pleased to learn that this young man will get educated because the PF government has created an enabling environment for young boys and girls to get educated.
“I took the young man, together with his dad and went into the Boma, I bought him new uniforms and books to last him until grade 12, I have also pledged to finance his school fees through the roan constituency educational fund until tertiary education,” he pledges.
Meanwhile, Dr Kambwili has said that every Zambian has an obligation to make a difference.
“We have prized education as they real key to a better life for all,” he added.
