GYZ tells Nawakwi to repent, says she is driven by hate forces

Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader is driven by hate forces and that is why she is inciting people to shun the day of national prayers and fasting because she does not believe that God can hear prayers, the Gallant Youth of Zambia (GYZ) has charged.

Reacting to Ms. Nawakwi’s attacks against President Edgar Lungu, GYZ president Henry Mulenga said it was only a person who was under the influence of wicked spells that would refuse to seek the face of God in difficult times.

Mr. Mulenga said Ms. Nawakwi’s bitterness should not derail plans to hold national prayers and fasting as that was the only way a country should react when there was a crisis.

He noted that the current challenges that the country was facing called for soberness and maturity among all political players as finger-pointing would not solve the problems.

He said it was important for Zambians to realise that the problems that the country was going through were not created by President Lungu and that viewing the call to prayer as a weakness on the part of the Head of State showed lack of patriotism.

“With her level of education as a person who has passed through the corridors of the University of Zambia, we would expect her to approach these matters with level-headedness. For someone to shun such an important event and ask other people to do the same shows that they are led by wicked forces,” Mr. Mulenga said.  -Daily Nation
