Samantha Mumba Involved In Horror Car Crash One Week Before Birth Of First Child Born Child

Samantha Mumba has been involved in a terrifying car crash just one week before the birth of her first child. 

The 32-year-old Irish singer and actress - who lives in Los Angeles - was part of a three-car pile-up and was lucky to escape unharmed. 

She shared a picture of herself lying on her back in an ambulance on Instagram and wrote: '3 car crash that we got the brunt of. My poor car written off a week before the baby is due. Clearly God was protecting us....just so grateful that our little girl is ok and this wasn't any worse. Serious reality check.' 

She later added: 'Thanks for all the messages everyone alls well that ends well thank God (sic).' Samantha married former policeman Torray Scales in 2012 and is the stepmother to his son Mason. 

It is not yet clear what caused the crash. 

Irish born Mumba shot to fame with her debut single Gotta Tell You which was a number one smash hit in the UK and reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in America. As well as a successful solo career the Body II Body singer began acting in some big budget movies including The Time Machine with Guy Pierce. 

After being dropped from her record label she concentrated on acting full time and has appeared in a few independent films. 

Last year Samantha tried to relaunch her music career with a number of gigs at home in Ireland. However, her single Just Begun only sold 40 copies in the week after its release. 

She had self-funded the single which was produced by Justin Gray, who previously collaborated with Mariah Carey.
