On the 16th of July, 2022, Genius Education Zambia in partnership with 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐙𝐑𝐃𝐂), Information and Communications University and various institutions hosted the 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 under the theme “𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀."
The Genius Science Fair is an annual exhibition of 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 (𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠) innovations, projects and solutions by high school learners and high school leavers.
The Fair is a two-part event involving the project exhibition and STEM writing contest. It was based on the following categories; Engineering and Electronics, Computer Science and Mathematics, Robotics and Intelligent Design, Medicine and Health, Astronomy and Physics, STEM teacher of the year and Agricultural-science and Climate Change.
At least eleven schools in Lusaka participated in the fair. It did not only attract schools in Lusaka but a hundred of learners around the country.
3 winners were selected in each category and received prizes from partner organizations such as tablets, research opportunities and monetary prizes.
During the Fair, ZRDC representative and Information and Communications University Lecturer 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐚 challenged the young people that were present to ask questions.
“Young people should have the ability to ask questions as it might help them to come up with theses and discoveries”, he said.
