Pprovincial Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kasolo says that guidelines in the public service are clear that civil servants will be paid on the last day of the month.
Mr. Kasolo says that the workers can only complain about
salaries being delayed if they do not get paid by the end of
today because the month of August ended yesterday.
He says that it is important to note that government has
other financial obligations to attend to although salaries are
a priority.
Mr. Kasolo further explained that the Ministry of Finance has
to collect money from ZRA, the Zambia Revenue Authority to
meet its obligations like paying salaries.

Finance two weeks ago paid huge amounts of money to local
