Water Aid Country Director Pamela Chisenga says it is disappointing that countries emulating Zambia’s policies are
doing well when it comes to implementation.
Ms. Chisenga says Kenya emulated the policy on the provision of sanitary pads to school going children in rural and peri-urban areas and they have already started
distributing as promised.
She says having access to sanitary pads and water is vital to keeping the girl child in school and urged government to live
up to its word.
In the 2017 budget, government said it would provide sanitary pads to school going children in rural and peri-urban areas.
