The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) has
received financing from the World Bank to implement sub-
component 1.2 of the Pilot Programme Climate Resilience
(PPCR): Strengthened Climate Information whose main
objective is to provide reliable, accessible, timely early
warning and climate information to vulnerable
communities.
This sub- component is aimed at supporting
the social marketing awareness campaign, strengthened
early warning system and establishment of an open data
platform.
The DMMU is therefore calling for expression of interest
from eligible consulting firms to implement the
development of the Zambia Climate Information Open Data
Sharing Platform for Disaster Risk Initiative in the Barotse
and Kafue Sub- basin to facilitate for easy collection, storage,
sharing, and dissemination of climate and disaster related
information among stakeholders and the communities in
the project areas to build resilience to climate and disaster
risk.
